Bonsai Design is proud to acknowledge an exciting project with Colorado-based Vail Resorts. A multi-phase project is underway, which will include Challenge Courses, Zip Tours, and Sky-Rider™ Big Zip Rides to be built at some of their world-class locations.
Bonsai Design successfully built two premiere Challenge Courses atop Adventure Ridge on Vail Mountain, marking the completion of the initial phase of construction on the mountain. Additionally, construction is ongoing this fall on Heavenly Mountain (high above beautiful Lake Tahoe), with the construction of two Pole-Based Challenge Courses and a Tree-Based Challenge Course. As the snow falls and winter enthusiasts claim the mountains over the next few months, Bonsai will be gearing up for a big construction push planned to coincide with the Spring’s snowmelt.
Navitat Canopy Adventures
As part of a healthy partnership with Navitat Zipline Canopy Adventures, Bonsai Design is currently working on two projects separated by the interior of the United States. In Wrightwood, California, Bonsai is concluding a re-design project focused on providing a higher throughput for weekend crowds heading up into the San Gabriel Mountains just outside of Los Angeles. On the outskirts of Asheville, North Carolina, Bonsai Design is gearing up to construct a Sky-Rider™Tour that will fly high above an existing Canopy Tour, consisting of three dual racing zip lines ranging from 1,100 to 3,600 feet.
Virginia State Parks
Bonsai is working on its second project for the owners of North Georgia Canopy Tours, which we built in the Spring of 2010. This project is exciting in that the owners are working with the state of Virginia to install Canopy Tours in state parks. This project, planned for Andy Guest State Park, located in the Shenandoah Valley, has been through the design and engineering phase and is gearing up for a Spring installation.
Seasonal Inspections and Trainings
Bonsai has performed a number of seasonal, Professional Inspections for Canopy Tours across the Eastern seaboard. From Georgia to Pennsylvania, our trained inspectors have provided programs with comprehensive inspections and thorough Inspection Reports in order to ensure the structural integrity of the courses.
Our PVM Qualified Training Department currently services a wide variety of clients, offering trainings to Canopy Tour Staff, Challenge Course Staff, Course Managers, as well as a wide variety of specialized trainings. In a typical season, Bonsai will run an average of 42 training weeks per year. We are currently working with our largest training client, the Boy Scouts of America, working to prepare and train their organization for the successful operation of the 2013 Boy Scout Jamboree.
