Project Goal:

  • Provide a unique tree-based adventure in the southern Appalachian Mountains that showcases the highlights of the Moody Cove location.
  • Build a course within easy reach of the city of Asheville, NC
  • Build a course that leaves a small footprint

Program Description:

  • Eco / History Tour
  • Emphasis on environmental sustainability and conservation
  • Emphasis on a Guide-based interpretive experience

Course Description:

  • 10 zip lines – 1,100 ft. max
  • 2 Sky-Bridges
  • 3 short hikes
  • 2 rappels
  • Group Size:  8 participants and 2 guides
  • Participatory tour with gloved hand-braking system

Installation Specifics:

  • Built in White, Red, and Chestnut Oak, Poplar, and Hickory
  • Weathering steel platforms
  • Conventional yoke and friction wrap terminations
  • Dual cable systems using 3/8” jacketed cables (“silent” cables)
